On September 21, 2016, Square One was awarded the 2016 ICSC Maple Leaf Gold Award for Design & Development for Centres More Than 1,000,000 sq.ft. of Total Retail Space for the South Expansion project. Also known as the "luxury wing", the Square One South Expansion is Mississauga City Centre's grand new retail destination highlighted by its innovative architecture and interiors.
