Square One Shopping Centre’s South Expansion is the third phase of a multi-phase, $480 million redevelopment project by Oxford Properties that began in 2012. MMC Architects in association with JPRA Design, ensured that the South Expansion stayed true to the mall’s luxury shopping experience by using a similar design language and finishes defined by the previous redevelopment projects. Described as Square One’s ‘luxury wing’, the South Expansion features a 60 foot high glass rotunda entrance, a coveted collection of high-end retailers, a multi-level climate-controlled underground parking garage and new Urban Park.

As part of the redevelopment project, Square One has also invested in a superior guest experience through a dedicated concierge service, valet parking in its new underground parking levels and additional guest lounge areas throughout the South Expansion. Through the continual enhancements of the shopping experience and re-branding of a dated suburban mall into a luxury urban shopping destination, Square One has become a leading contender in the North American retail industry, and its transformation has allowed it to grow with the evolving urban fabric of the City of Mississauga.
