HILLSIDE CENTRE

Along with the revitalization and expansion of Hillside Centre in Victoria, BC, MMC Architects developed a plan to address the existing problems and concerns at Hillside Centre beyond the physical building of the shopping centre. This included a phased development that started from the renovation and expansion of Hillside Centre, to be followed by commercial and residential expansion in the surrounding site. A site plan has also been proposed to provide safe and convenient access for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as improved transit stops.

All these proposed improvements are steps towards transforming the suburban, vehicle-oriented regional shopping centre into an urban mixed-use centre and will set as the foundation for smart urban growth in the city.
